THIS YEAR, WE UNLEASHED OUR INNER QUEEN

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone involved in the 2019 Sydney Mardi Gras Festival. It was an empowering experience. The fearlessness, creativity and sense of community was moving. We are proud to have been the principal partner of Queer Screen’s 26th Mardi Gras Film Festival and to contribute to the Mardi Gras festivities. The brave stories of the LGBTQI community have taught us a wealth of knowledge about the pursuit of innovation and progress. We are proud to have unleashed Jaguar’s inner queen. Thank you Mardi Gras. Onwards and upwards. #FITFORAQUEEN

2019 MARDI GRAS PARADE DAY CELEBRATIONS

Parade Day 2019. A day to remember. The Jag Queen Service Centre was in full swing; our Sephora make-up artists serviced the looks of hundreds of parade goers. It was a pleasure to be a part of so many wonderful people’s outfit preparations. You all looked stunning, if we do say so ourselves. After operating the Jag Queen Service Centre Rhumma Hazzet lead the Queer Screen float in the iconic Jaguar F-TYPE, where she turned heads and broke hearts all down Oxford St. Click the link below for photos from the day.

THE JAG QUEEN CATWALK

On the eve of the 2019 Mardi Gras Parade, Jaguar held the ultimate Drag Queen Catwalk. Top Drag Queens from across the country battled it out in front of the likes of Alfie Acuri and Rhuma Hazzet. We would like to congratulate our Winner Ivy Leaguee, who took home the crown. Ivy’s powerful performance left the crowd in awe. He is now off to London with a friend to strut the streets at London Pride.

PROUD TO WELCOME ALFIE ARCURI TO THE FAMILY

The first openly gay male winner of The Voice, singer-songwriter Alfie Arcuri has become an ambassador for Jaguar. We have commissioned a short film to pay tribute to the battle Alfie Arcuri fought behind closed doors. Growing up in a traditional catholic family, Alfie struggled to come to terms with his sexuality. Every day, inside his own head, he was fighting a battle. The film is an intimate portrait that explores the challenges and conflicting emotions he faced as a closeted gay man. His liberation came when he came out to his family. Their unconditional love and support gave him the confidence to reveal another secret – his love of singing. We hope Alfie’s film inspires others to be fearless.

QUEER SCREEN'S 26TH MARDI GRAS FILM FESTIVAL PARTNERSHIP

It was an honour to be the principal partner of Queer Screen’s 26th Mardi Gras Film Festival. We celebrated queer story telling on the big screen. We explored diverse sexualities and gender identities in Australia and around the world. The stories of the LGBTQI community were eye opening and inspirational to all.
