As the UK’s biggest investor in manufacturing research and development, Jaguar supports thousands of engineers in developing cutting-edge innovations to improve every part of our business.

Our world-class expertise in aluminium technology allows us to build lighter, more efficient and more agile cars like the all-new XE - the first of a new generation of Jaguar cars that use our all new Advanced Aluminium Architecture to create an incredibly strong body shell with high torsional rigidity and near 50:50 weight distribution.

As part of our commitment to constantly improve the efficiency of our cars we have created a range of efficient Ingenium engines. These models are the most efficient cars in the Jaguar range. Certain XE, XF and F‑PACE models are available with the energy-saving 2.0 litre i4 turbocharged diesel (163PS) with an Intelligent Start/Stop system, as well as Ultra Low Rolling Resistance tyres to reduce drag between road and tyre, and lightweight aerodynamic alloy wheels, designed to optimise efficiency. The result: an astonishing fuel economy as low as 4.1l/100km and CO2 emissions from 106g/km for XE, and little as 4.0l/100km and 104g/km CO2 for XF.

And, in 2018, we launched our first all-electric car. Built from the ground up, the new Jaguar I‑PACE is a pure Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV). The five-seater sports car, with zero tailpipe emissions,  delivers 696Nm of instant torque and sports car agility.

I‑PACE continues our success in developing new engines and powertrains to meet the needs of drivers today and tomorrow.
