JAGUAR’S DESIGN MASTERCLASS SERIES

If you’ve ever wondered how the sleek, gleaming Jaguars you see on the road were created, our talented masters of design take you through the early stages of the process, from initial sketch through to striking render and onto 3D design.

EPISODE 1: SKETCHING THE ALL-ELECTRIC I-PACE

Sketches are an effective way for designers to communicate their vision of what a future Jaguar could look like. For designers it’s an exciting process, as they challenge each other to set the design direction of the brand. Watch Jaguar Chief Creative Designer Dominic Najafi sketch the impressive I-PACE, Jaguar’s first electric car, in real time.

EPISODE 2: RENDERING THE ALL-ELECTRIC I-PACE

Once a sketch is completed, it’s passed along to be turned into a stunning render, adding depth and realism to the drawing. Many renderings are created, allowing the designers to experiment as much as possible. Jaguar Chief Exterior Designer Matthew Beaven shows you how he turns the sketch of the all-electric I-PACE into a render.

EPISODE 3: TAKING I-PACE FROM 2D to 3D

The next step in the process sees a new team take the 2D design proposals and develop them into 3D geometry. They start with the big building blocks first and then add the details on top, working on every surface of the car. Watch Jaguar Senior Alias Modeller Chris Scholes take the all-electric I-PACE from a 2D render into the 3D world.
