Jaguar TCS Racing is thrilled to announce Nick Cassidy will join the team’s driver line-up for the 2024 season of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Cassidy joins the team following his most successful Formula E season yet. He joins fellow New Zealander and good friend Mitch Evans, who has been confirmed to remain with Jaguar TCS Racing for season 10 and beyond.

Cassidy started racing at a young age, competing against Evans throughout their childhood. He joined the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in 2020 driving for Envision Racing, and achieved his first victory in 2022 at the New York E-Prix. Cassidy finished the 2023 season as runner-up in the Drivers’ World Championship, and was instrumental in winning the Teams’ World Championship with Envision Racing, driving a Jaguar I-TYPE 6.

We caught up with Cassidy after the big announcement for an exclusive chat about joining the team and the season ahead.

How do you feel about joining Jaguar TCS Racing?

I'm really excited. The fact that Jaguar TCS Racing has the same package as Envision Racing, which was so successful this year, is a big positive for me. By now moving to the official manufacturer in Jaguar, it means I'm basically going to have the same car, the same tools, the same equipment, but with even better preparation, so ultimately I see it as a really exciting step for myself.

What do you love about the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship?

I have a good perception of the different motorsport categories as I came from Formula 3, Super GT, Super Formula, and I tested IndyCar at the start of the year, but I'm competing in Formula E for a reason. I really enjoy driving in this category. The technology is unbelievable at the moment, especially as we've had the Gen3 car this year which is seriously impressive. I think the sport can only go up from here.

What are you most looking forward to about the upcoming season 10?

Jaguar TCS Racing as a team and a manufacturer have been very successful over the last 12 months, and so I don't see any reason why that can't continue. I hope that I can also, together with Mitch, bring something to add to the team and for us to be up the top of the leaderboard a lot more consistently. When I look at the stats from season 9, I don't see any reason why that’s not possible. I'm also excited to be joining Mitch in the team, as we’ve raced against each other since we were six years old. It’s epic, he's one of my best mates and now to be teammates with him is fantastic. I also think from a performance point of view, we’ve both had strong seasons this year, so I think for Jaguar TCS Racing it's a really exciting prospect to have us both together next year.

In other exciting news, Mitch Evans has signed a multi-year contract and commits his future to Jaguar TCS Racing, his eighth season with the team. This relationship represents the longest driver and team pairing in Formula E history, and is also one of the most successful.

Together, Cassidy and Evans will be one of the strongest driver line-ups on the grid, with 15 wins, 37 podiums, 11 pole positions and 1076 championship points between them. Jaguar TCS Racing is looking to build upon the impressive results of 2023, with season 10 starting on 13 January 2024 in Mexico City.
