ALL-ELECTRIC CARS EXPLAINED

ALL-ELECTRIC CARS EXPLAINED

Electrifying performance. Zero tailpipe emissions.

Our sophisticated, all-electric Jaguar I‑PACE is a thrilling combination of virtually silent sports-car performance with zero tailpipe emissions.

  • HOW DO ALL-ELECTRIC CARS WORK?

Jaguar all-electric performance is powered by two electric motors with a battery. Charged by plugging into an external power supply and regenerative braking, it requires no petrol or diesel and produces zero tailpipe emissions.

  • WHAT MAKES THEM EASY TO LIVE WITH?

With a 90kWh battery, Jaguar I‑PACE is able to achieve a range of up to 446km* from a single charge. It can easily be recharged overnight using a home charger or domestic plug socket, and with the ever-growing network of public charging points.

  • WHAT ARE THEY LIKE TO DRIVE?

A pure electric powertrain is not only incredibly quiet, it's able to deliver smooth and instant acceleration with seamless gearshift changes. For sports car agility, we position our battery between the axles, giving a low centre of gravity and near perfect weight distribution. All-electric Jaguar I‑PACE takes you from 0-100km/h in 4.8 seconds.

HOW DO I CHARGE AN ALL-ELECTRIC CAR?

All-electric cars can be charged using a professionally installed home charger, a domestic socket, and at many public charging locations such as gyms, shopping centres and motorway services.

  • CHARGING SPEEDS AT HOME1

    • 7kW AC home chargers will charge overnight from 13 hours. Or up to 35km of range from 60 minutes
    • Domestic sockets will charge from 48 hours. Or up to 8km of range from 60 minutes
  • CHARGING SPEEDS IN PUBLIC1

    • 7kW AC public charging points will charge up to 35km of range from 60 minutes
    • 50kW rapid DC charging points will charge up to 62km from 15 minutes
    • 100kW rapid DC charging points will charge up to 127km from 15 minutes
  • WHAT AFFECTS THE DISTANCE I CAN DRIVE?

In an all-electric car, your battery is the single source of energy for everything. As a result, your driving style, the features you use in your cabin, and even the conditions you drive in will influence your overall range.

  • WILL AN ALL-ELECTRIC CAR SAVE ME MONEY?

Lower running costs, specifically curated electricity rates compared to petrol and diesel, and government rebates are just some of the ways that the move to all-electric can save you money every year.

  • HOW LONG IS THE BATTERY WARRANTY?

Jaguar I-PACE is covered by a comprehensive battery warranty of up to 8 years or 160,000km – whichever comes first.

WE RECOMMEND: PETROL

PETROL

Our petrol vehicles are an ideal choice for drivers who primarily take shorter journeys and tend to drive fewer miles on the motorway. All our new petrol vehicles utilise the latest technology, including GPF (Gasoline Particulate Filters) to help reduce emissions.

  • Well suited to dynamic or high-performance driving
  • Typically, more suited to shorter urban journeys than diesels
  • EU6 compliant with cutting-edge technology to reduce emissions
  • Enhanced fuel efficiency with a choice of Jaguar mild hybrid petrol engines

  • More tailpipe CO₂ emissions than diesel engines

WE RECOMMEND: DIESEL

DIESEL

All our vehicles fitted with Jaguar's new Diesel engines are a great fit for drivers predominantly taking longer journeys on motorways with some city travel. All our diesel vehicles are fitted with Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs) and use Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) to meet stringent regulations and lower tailpipe emissions.

  • Typically, more fuel efficient than petrol engines
  • Often feature more low-end torque, ideal for motorways, towing and off-road driving
  • EU6 compliant for emissions with CO₂ level approximately 15% below petrol^
  • Diesel engines provide up to 25% more fuel efficiency than petrol engines^

  • New diesel won't always be at its efficient best if you only take short trips or mostly drive in cities
